The YONSEI 17 team will be hosted by Sakata City in Yamagata Prefecture. The cultural experience involves a home stay visit with a Japanese family in Sakata City. You will also have an opportunity to compete in basketball games against teams selected by our host city.
Sakata City is an important port town located on the coast of the Japan Sea and is known for its rich history and prominence in the fishing and rice growing industry as well as for their sake, beef and cherries. Our tour will also take you to other major cities and places of interest in Japan, providing you an opportunity to enjoy the many historical and cultural sites this beautiful country has to offer.
